South Africa Academic Doctors Association (SAADA) is a recently established collaboration of academic doctors from different corners of the country.

The SAADA complements and collaborates with government and non-governmental structures, public and private sector in community development, education, research, and scholarship initiatives.
Objectives
The organization’s main objectives are to:
- Create platforms where academic doctors collaborate, develop, and nurture their competencies in different spheres of life.
- Mount and support societal development initiatives.
- Initiate, develop and support research and scholarship.
- Contribute and enhance the quality of teaching and learning in institutions.

Membership
Membership of SAADA
1.1 Membership is guided by rules and regulations of SAADA.
1.2 Academic doctors and students registered for doctoral degrees, i.e., Ph.D. candidates, are eligible to be members of the SAADA.
1.2.1 Those applying for membership are required to submit academic qualifications.
1.2.2 doctoral candidates are required to submit proof of registration forthat particular year; otherwise, they cease to be members.
1.3 Prospective members are required to apply for membership by filling the application forms.
1.4 Members will be required to pay annual membership fee.
1.4.1 The annual membership fee is renewable every year.
1.4.2 The membership fees will enable the SAADA to fund its activities.
1.4.3 Membership expires on the date the member paid or renewed the membership the previous year.
For example, if a member has paid for membership on the 6 th of October 2023, the member should renew his membership on or before the 6 th of October 2024.
1.5 Members will be assigned membership numbers.
1.6 Members are required to sign a code of conduct for SAADA members.
1.7 Members will be registered in the membership database.
1.8 The board will from time to time determine and review the payable membership.
1.9 The board will, from time to time, determine and review the benefits accessible to members.
Benefits to SAADA Members
SAADA creates opportunities and platforms for its members:
1. To collaborate, nourish and grow academically, socially, and professionally.
2. To contribute their skills and competencies to the community and the country in a structured way.
3. To access SAADA resources, e.g., publications, and conferences at zero or discounted rates.
4. To partner and work with other stakeholders on research, and/or development initiatives that are of common interest.
5. To showcase their knowledge and expertise through conferences and seminars which in turn enhances their chances to access job and business opportunities.
6. To benchmark their performances against fellow members for the purpose of identifying areas for improvement.
